Good evening everyone, My name is Maria Battaglia, I’m the Director of the Italian Cultural Institute Jakarta. The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italian Cultural Institute in Jakarta in this pandemic period continue to offer a series of cultural events ranging from Cinema, Music, Art, Dance, Science, Literature, Cuisine, Cultural Heritage and many more. I believe that in times of crisis, we need art and culture more than ever. Billions of people around the world turn to culture as a source of comfort and connection. This unprecedented emergency demonstrates culture’s role in building resilience and social cohesion; art is resilient. Today is a special day because we have a beautiful musical performance by Duo Alterno.

A duo consists of Riccardo Piacentini, pianist & composer and Tiziana Scandaletti, soprano. The duo is always engaged in the promotion of Italian music of the twentieth century and contemporary. Today these two musicians will take us to a pleasant musical journey by performing a wide range of theater and the best Italian chamber repertoire repertoire ranging from composition by Luciano Berio to Francesco Paolo Tosti, from Giacomo Puccini to Ennio Morricone and from Marcello Panni to Riccardo Piacentini himself.

Keep following us on social media and don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel to be always updated, because we have many interesting events in the upcoming months! I hope you enjoy the concert!
